Ben and Noel Haggard: “The HAGGARD legacy LIVES ON”
Merle’s sons Ben and Noel Haggard are playing for a very special evening of music! They’ll be playing all your favorite Merle Haggard songs.
Ben and Noel Haggard tour together, continuing their father’s legacy by singing his songs and have played many of the dates Merle planned before his passing. The Haggard brothers have recently opened for Willie Nelson and have upcoming shows with Jamey Johnson and The Oak Ridge Boys.
Ben is Merle’s youngest son and lead guitarist for Merle's band "The Strangers." Ben started learning guitar at 11 years old then later took the stage with his dad at the young age of 15. Making it a family affair, Ben toured with his father and mother Merle and Theresa Haggard traveling across the country nearly every month. Ben plays on a multitude of Merle’s records and took the stage with "The Highway Men" at the Grammys in 2014. Ben has also played guitar beside a couple of his idols, Vince Gill and Keith Urban, at the “All For The Hall" show in 2012.
He has released two songs on an album called, "Tribute to Merle Haggard" contributed to by various hit country artists. On the record, Ben sings "Mama Tried” and "Sing Me Back Home.” The young Haggard recently made a televised appearance at "The American Country Countdown Awards" with The Strangers and Toby Keith to pay tribute to Merle since his passing.
