NOTE: Champion ribbons will be awarded only when 3 or more animals are in the class.


ELIGIBILITY: Exhibitors must be members of a regularly organized Warren County 4-H
Club or special interest group carrying a project in the field they wish to make entry and be under the supervision of the Pennsylvania State University Extension 4-H by June 1, preceding the Fair.


Students enrolled in an accepted Warren County Vocational School curriculum must be conducting a project in the class in which they wish to make an entry. Students enrolled in general home economics in a comprehensive high school are considered as qualifying. All entries shall be approved prior to the Fair by amember of the Pennsylvania Department of Education, Agriculture and Home Economics staff or their designated representative.

Rules and Regulations

1. General rules and regulations governing the Fair will be followed.
2. Pennsylvania 4-H Horse rules will be followed including ethics and quality assurance.
3. The Fair reserves the right to reject any animal.
4. Horses and ponies may be ridden in designated area and at specified times only.
5. No rough treatment of animals will be permitted.
6. Sawdust only will be furnished.
7. There will be at least one tack stall per club depending on number of horses entered.
8. No equine showing clinical signs of any contagious or infectious disease will be admitted to any show (see Health Rules for more information).
9. An entry fee of $2.00 per animal must accompany the Entry Blank.
10. The health certificate shall include the Coggins, ETA, elisha and agio test date and results, which must have been conducted within twelve months of opening date of the fair at which the equine is to be exhibited.
11.Any equine may be subject to a blood test.
12. Upon arrival at the fair, the member will be responsible for handling, care, fitting and showing of their animal. No adult is permitted to prepare animal for fitting or showing in Department
10. Premiums may be forfeited.
13. All 4-H members in 4-H related classes and shows must wear a protective helmet while mounted or driving a horse. Refer to 4-H protective head gear standards and rulings.
14. If sufficient stall space is not available, exhibitors will be limited to 1 horse each and stalls will be awarded on a first come first serve basis based on entry postmark.

Rules and Regulations
1. Refer to General Rules and to Rules and Regulations in Department 2, including ethics and quality assurance.
2. 4-H Club and FFA members must be present and have charge of their animals at the time of judging.
3. All 4-H project entries must have satisfactorily completed their project First year 4-H dairy club members may show a maximum of three (3). animals, second year members a maximum of four (4) animals, third year members or older a maximum of ten (10) animals in the show. More than one animal must be shown by a 4-H'er of equal or younger age than the exhibitor.The names of all dairy animals and registration or ear tag number are due by June 1, 2010 to the Warren County Cooperative office.


4. OWNERSHIP
A. Animals bred and owned by the exhibitor must be registered in the exhibitor's name
by show date.
B. Animals not bred by the exhibitor:
1. Animals born in the Sr yearling or younger classes must be transferred into
exhibitor's name on or before June 1, 2010.
2. Animals born in the Jr two year old or older classes must be transferred
into exhibitor's name on or before June 1, 2010.
Date of transfer shown on the registration certificate will be considered as
date of ownership in all classes.
C. Leased animals are eligible to be shown if a management plan is carried out.
D. Grade animals are permitted to be shown in theWarren County Junior Dairy
Show only.


5. No animal over one year of age should have horns
6. Health papers issued by the Pennsylvania Bureau of Animal Industry are required for all animals and will be checked by the show personnel at the show arena during check in on Monday.
7. Any substitution of an animal or changes in showmanship and fitting participationmust receive prior approval from all the County 4-H leaders.
8. ENTRY FEE OF $2.00 PER ANIMAL MUST ACCOMPANY THE ENTRY BLANK.
9. Upon arrival at fair, member will be responsible for handling, care fitting and showing of their animal. No adult is permitted to prepare the animal for fitting or showing in Department
10. Premiums may be forfeited.
11. No ribbons, trophies, awards, equipment or exhibit may be removed at any time before the close of the Fair or Department.

Showmanship and Fitting

ShowmanAward - Trophy top individuals
Blue, red or white rosette - Presented to 25% of the participants in each class.
Fitting award - Trophy to top and $5.00
Purple Rosette - Master Fitter-Presented to top 10% of the participants
TypeAward - Trophy to the best for each breed.
Supreme Champion - Trophy to the best animal of the breeds.
2. In the fitting competition, 4-H members will clip, brush and groom their animals.All
member MUST participate. Senior will be scored on clipping animal's entire body,
Intermediates will be scored scored on the clipping the entire rear of the animal. Juniors
will be scored on clipping tail and tailhead. ONLYTHEANIMAL'S HEAD BY BE
CLIPPED BEFORE THE COMPETITION. Prior clipping of this animal should not be
done.
3. Clothes and person should be neat and clean.Awhite shirt or blouse and black or white slacks or skirt (no jeans) should be worn. The hat with the entry number will be
considered as part of the uniform and must be displayed while in the show ring. Also,
either hats or harnesses may be worn as long as the number is visible on the head or back uniforms bearing farm names or advertising will not be acceptable.
4. Exhibitors are responsible for getting their animals to the show ring when the class is
shown. Judging will start at 9:30AM. Judging will be continuous. No lunch break. Class
es in each division will be shown in the same order as listed. The judges' decisions will be final.

Rules and Regulations
1. When exhibition in the ring, each animal must be under halter and in charge of owner or owner's representative. Any animal that is unruly, not under the control of exhibitor or poses a threat to the safety of others will be dismissed from the show ring and will not be eligible for judging.
2. An entry fee of $2.00 per animal must accompany the entry blank.
3. All animals must be registered with their respective breed association.
4. Registration papers must be available for inspection
5. Animals that aren't registered may show as commercial, but both parent must be beef animals. Only animals registered and showing papers are eligible for classes except 9 and 10.
6. Upon arrival at the fair, the member will be responsible for handling, care, fitting and
showing of their animal. No adult is permitted to prepare animal for fitting or showing in Department 10. Premiums may be forfeited.
7. Ethics and quality assurance shall be followed.
8. Only animals registered and showing papers are eligible for classes 9 and 10.

Market Steers

Rules and Regulations
1. Steers will not be judged separately by breed. They will be divided as evenly as possible into three classes. To be eligible to show, all steers must be weighed at the fair that will begin by 6:00 PM the Monday of the fair, as designated by the sale chairperson. Steers that weigh less than 900 lbs. will show in class 308, Feeder Class and steers that weigh over 1550 lbs. will show in Class 309, Overweight Class. Steers in Classes 308 and 309 will not be eligible to sell in the livestock sale.
2. Beef steers shall be free of infections and transmissible diseases.
3. No exhibitor may enter more than one animal.
4. Exhibitor must be enrolled in aWarren County FFAor 4-H Club.
5. Animals must meet all eligibility requirements of the Livestock Sale in order to show.

Rules and Regulations

2. All animals must meet the general and required health rules of the fair and rules of Department 4.
3. An entry fee of $1.50 per animal must accompany the entry blank.
4. Lambs shown in breeding class cannot be shown in market classes and vice-versa.
5. Lambs will be divided as equally as possible into 3 weight classes. Lambs that weigh less than 80 lbs. will show in Class 607, Feeder Class and Lambs that weigh over 160 lbs. will show in Class 608, Overweight Class. Lambs in Classes 607 and 608 will not be eligible to sell in the livestock sale. All sale animals will begin to be weighed at 6:00 PM, the Monday of the fair as designated by the sale chairperson. Animals must meet all eligibility requirements of the livestock sale in order to show in the market classes 601-606.
6. Only one lamb per exhibitor can show in classes 601 through 608 of Market Lamb.
7. Upon arrival at the fair, the member will be responsible for handling, care, fitting and
showing of their animal. No adult is permitted to prepare animal for fitting or showing in Department 10. Premiums may be forfeited.
