The Annual Marge Taydus Memorial Award will be given to two exhibitors, one from the junior division and one from the senior division, during this year's Warren County Fair. Marge’s family has arranged for two cash awards of $50.00 each to be given each year in her memory. Marge loved the fair and entered many items in many departments for as long as she was able. Marge’s family would like to honor her by encouraging youth and adults to enter in the fair. The award will be given after judging and tallying of ribbons has been completed and will be based on the total number of ribbons won by an individual competitor in the junior division and in the senior division of still exhibits (Departments 11 – 23).
** The History of the Marge Taydus Memorial Award:
-In 2004, the Warren County Fair received a gift from the family of Marge Taydus, a long time exhibitor of the fair who had passed away.
-Marge was a fair lover. She entered dozens of items: flowers, plants, needlework, baked and canned goods, candies, and fruits & vegetables. She won many, many prizes.
-Her family decided to start a memorial in her name in an effort to increase entries at the fair and to remember their mother.
-Their gift was $4000, which was to be invested so that each year of the fair, two monetary gifts of $50 each could be awarded to the adult and to the youth who got the highest number of ribbons in still exhibits.
